Forensic/Crime Scene Unit...

The Forensic/Crime Scene Unit is the scientific division of the Sheriff's Office. This unit is responsible for the processing of all crime scenes.

The laboratory helps the Criminal Justice process by answering the questions of whether a crime was committed, who could or could have not committed the crime, how it was committed, and when and where it was committed.

This is accomplished through the scientific analysis of physical evidence collected from the crime scene and suspects. This includes photography, video taping, collection, examination, and storage of evidence. Also the examination of fingerprints; Latent, known, and unknown.

The laboratory also provides technical assistance in criminal cases to aid law enforcement officers throughout the Trumbull County area and assists other state and federal agencies.
